Log0051 | Naptime
Strolling through SF with a baby strapped to my chest and a wife on my hand. Exploring cities has changed some from how it used to be. Now a 55 minute walk while the girl naps is about all we can handle. But in some senses it is enough. At least for now. We are worn out with life, ready for normalcy and routine to enter our lives. A baby does that to you. But at the same time our itch to explore is still there. Conflicting with the very real realities of our newborn constraints.
Up the hill towards Chinatown my wife suddenly stops. Darts into the tiny pizza shop. “Wait, I’ve heard of this place!” The vibe is fresh, a newish shop with young energy. Everyone seems stoked to be cooking pizza or stretching dough. The group looks like a bunch of skaters decided to start a pizza joint. The pictures on the wall confirm this. We order a slice. Burn our mouths. I try my best not to drip hot chilli oil and parm onto my daughter's soft head that’s nestled into my chest. The slice is in fact 10/10. Incredible. We slip back out onto the street. Continuing up through Chinatown until we hear some soft whimpers. The alarm clock telling us it's time to cut back to the hotel.
Short micro adventures. Pizza. That’s about all we got in us right now.
